Third PSEA Training of Trainers (TOT) Successfully Conducted in Yangon

Braveheart Foundation, in collaboration with the PSEA Network Myanmar, successfully conducted the Third Training of Trainers (TOT) on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) from 17 to 20 March 2026 at Novotel Yangon Max Hotel, Yangon.

This intensive four-day training brought together trainers from 12 partner organizations, alongside experienced members of the PSEA Network Myanmar, creating a diverse and collaborative learning environment. The program was designed to deepen participants’ knowledge and strengthen their practical skills in preventing and responding to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA).

Building on previous trainings, this third TOT placed a strong emphasis on practical application and advanced learning. Key topics covered included:

  • Core concepts and distinctions between GBV, SEA, and SH
  • PSEA principles, global standards, and accountability frameworks
  • Prevention strategies and organizational responsibilities
  • Safe and accessible reporting mechanisms and complaint handling
  • Survivor-centered approaches
  • Case referral systems and inter-agency coordination
  • Risk assessment and mitigation measures
  • Training design and facilitation skills

The training adopted a highly participatory approach, combining presentations, group discussions, case studies, and hands-on simulation exercises. These methods enabled participants not only to strengthen their understanding but also to apply knowledge in realistic scenarios.

A key highlight of the TOT was the simulation training sessions, where participants practiced designing and delivering their own PSEA training modules. This component ensured that participants are now equipped to cascade knowledge within their respective organizations and communities.

Beyond technical learning, the training also fostered stronger relationships and collaboration among partner organizations and network members. The exchange of experiences and perspectives contributed to a more cohesive and strengthened PSEA network in Myanmar.

Through this TOT, participants have enhanced their capacity not only as learners but as trainers and advocates, capable of promoting PSEA principles and practices within their organizations and across communities.

Braveheart Foundation remains committed to advancing safeguarding efforts and strengthening systems to prevent and respond to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, contributing to safer and more accountable communities.
