Building Safer Communities Through PSEA Manual Sensitization Workshops
Following the successful publication of its Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Manual, Braveheart Foundation successfully conducted a series of PSEA Manual Sensitization Workshops in Taungoo, Mandalay, Kengtung and Hpa-An.
The manual was developed to provide practical guidance for preventing and addressing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA), strengthen accountability mechanisms based on a zero-tolerance approach, and enhance the knowledge and understanding of staff and partner organizations on PSEA principles and practices.
During the workshops, participants collaboratively identified potential SEA risks within their operational contexts and discussed practical measures to mitigate those risks. The sessions also provided an opportunity to develop service mapping resources that can support effective referral pathways and survivor-centered responses when needed.
These workshops served as valuable platforms for humanitarian and community-based organizations to exchange experiences, strengthen their commitment to safeguarding, and reinforce the collective responsibility to ensure accountability to affected populations. Participants emphasized the importance of integrating PSEA considerations into all aspects of programming and fostering organizational cultures that prioritize dignity, safety, and respect for the communities they serve.
