Lighting the Path Toward a Safer Tomorrow (Kyaikmaraw & Kawkareik)

For displaced families who have been forced to leave their homes and navigate life amid continuous uncertainty, every day brings a new set of hardships. Sleeping without adequate shelter against harsh weather conditions and enduring the dark hours of the night with anxiety over safety are harsh realities faced by many in affected communities.

To help address these critical challenges, Braveheart Foundation, in close partnership with Metta Sone Zay in Kyaikmaraw Township (Mon State) and the First Civil Donation Organization (FCD) in Kawkareik Township (Kayin State), reached out directly to support affected populations in these areas.

Through this joint response, basic non-food item (NFI) kits were successfully delivered directly to nearly 500 households in Kyaikmaraw Township and 1,290 households in Kawkareik Township—supporting a total of approximately 1,790 families.

Each household received an essential support package containing:

  • Blankets (1.5 x 2 m): 3 pieces
  • Sleeping Mats (180 x 90 cm): 3 pieces
  • Mosquito Nets (190 x 100 cm): 3 units
  • Solar Lantern: 1 unit
  • Tarpaulin Sheet (15′ x 15′): 1 piece
  • Kitchenware Set: 1 complete set

For many families, including those who had not previously received aid, receiving these critical supplies directly at their hands brought immense relief. “This support eases a significant portion of our daily hardships,” shared community members—their genuine smiles and words of gratitude offering profound encouragement to our field team.

Delivering Assistance with Safety, Protection, and Accountability

Beyond distributing physical assistance, Braveheart Foundation remains dedicated to ensuring that aid is delivered safely, respectfully, and transparently. To uphold these principles, awareness sessions on Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) were integrated throughout the activity. Community members were reminded that all humanitarian assistance is strictly free of charge and that no recipient should ever be asked to offer money, favors, labor, or any services in exchange for aid.

Additionally, accessible Community Feedback Mechanisms (CFM) were established on-site. This allowed participants to freely express their needs, share concerns, and provide feedback regarding the assistance received, ensuring our humanitarian actions remain truly responsive to community priorities.

Braveheart Foundation stands firmly alongside affected communities as they persevere through these challenging days.
