Kalaw PSEA ToT (2nd Round): Strengthening Skills, Deepening Understanding

The second round of our PSEA Training of Trainers (ToT) took place in Kalaw, bringing together partner organizations for four days of focused learning, reflection, and practical application. This training built on the foundation from the first ToT and supported participants to strengthen their confidence in applying PSEA principles within their organizations and communities.

Key Improvements from the Post-Assessment

Our follow-up assessment showed meaningful progress among participants:

  • Understanding of survivors’ rights and decision-making increased from 97% to 100%.
  • Awareness of the core principles of the survivor-centered approach rose significantly from 40% to 90%.
  • Knowledge relating to physical, emotional, and social safety needs of survivors improved noticeably.
  • Familiarity with CFRM (Complaints and Feedback Response Mechanism) reached 97%, reflecting a stronger grasp of how reporting systems build trust with communities.
  • Understanding of AAP (Accountability to Affected Populations) increased from 43% to 83%, and the ability to clearly explain AAP rose to 60%.

These results highlight a clear strengthening of knowledge and practical readiness among participants.

What We Covered During the 4-Day Training

Throughout the four-day program, participants revisited PSEA principles, discussed real-life challenges, practiced skills, explored compliance responsibilities, and worked on strengthening community outreach and coordination. The training emphasized survivor-centered responses, organizational accountability, and effective communication with communities.

Why This Training Matters

The progress shown in participants’ assessments demonstrates a stronger collective capacity to promote safe, survivor-centered environments. With deeper knowledge of CFRM, AAP, compliance, and survivor care, participants are now better equipped to support their organizations and communities in preventing and responding to SEA.
