Flood Rehabilitation

Last September, Typhoon Yagi caused severe flooding, landslides, and destruction in many parts of Myanmar, including Naypyidaw, Kayin, Kayah, Bago, Magway, Mandalay, Mon, and Shan states. Communities faced heavy losses, with homes destroyed and livelihoods disrupted.

In Taungoo District, the floods badly damaged essential roads and bridges, making it harder to deliver help. Farmlands were flooded, and many animals were lost, leaving thousands of families without their main sources of income. The scale of the disaster shows how much support is needed to help these families rebuild their lives.

In response, Braveheart Foundation is working in Taungoo District, part of the Bago Region, to support the hardest-hit families. The foundation’s projects focus on immediate needs while helping with long-term recovery. Between December and January, financial help will be given to 596 households that were severely affected by the disaster. This support will help families rebuild their homes and move forward. We share this update to raise awareness and stand with those in need.
