Every year on December 3rd, the world observes the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD)\u2014a day dedicated to recognizing the resilience, talents, and contributions of people living with disabilities. Globally, around 16% of the population face unique challenges, yet their courage and creativity enrich our communities in countless ways.
At the Braveheart Foundation, we believe that every child deserves the chance to thrive. This IDPD, we focused on supporting children with disabilities at the Ayi Metta Disability Shelter School, helping them take a crucial step toward independence: obtaining their Citizenship Cards and Smart Cards (UID). These IDs provide i) equal access to jobs and employment opportunities, ii) freedom to travel within the country and iii) access to skill-building programs and training.<\/p>\n
The Braveheart Foundation marked this day not only with action but also with celebration and commitment. We reaffirmed our dedication to valuing diversity, promoting inclusion, and creating a world where every child can grow, learn, and contribute to their fullest potential. As we honor this day, we are reminded that inclusion is not just a goal\u2014it is a responsibility. Together, we can build a community where everyone is seen, valued, and empowered; a society where differences are celebrated, opportunities are shared, and every individual has the chance to shine.<\/p>\n
